OASIS — Terms of Service & Membership Agreement

1.1 Binding Contractual Agreement

These Terms of Service and Membership Agreement (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding contract under the provisions of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, between you (“Applicant,” “Member,” or “User”) and OASIS, having its principal office at Plot No.: 2762, Brahmeswar Patna, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, 751018 (“OASIS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms govern your registration for, access to, and use of the OASIS digital entrepreneur community portal, Progressive Web Application (PWA), application programming interfaces (/api/v1), real-time WebSocket channels (/ws), events, and associated services (collectively, the “Platform”).

1.2 Electronic Record under Indian Law

This document is an electronic record formulated in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the rules made thereunder (including the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021). This electronic record is generated by a computer system and does not require any physical or digital signatures to be legally enforceable.

1.3 Versioned Consent Recording & Mandatory Re-Acceptance Gate

• Initial Consent Capture: When registering on OASIS, you must explicitly accept these Terms, our Privacy Notice (privacy_notice), and Community Guidelines (community_guidelines). Acceptance is permanently immutably logged in the Platform’s ConsentRecord ledger with document type, version, timestamp (UTC), and IP address.
• Updates and Re-Acceptance Gate: When updated terms are published (POST /admin/legal), a real-time notification flags pendingConsents on your account. Continued access to member features requires accepting updated versions via the in-app consent modal.

2.1 Digital Home for Odisha’s Entrepreneur Community

OASIS (“One Community. Infinite Possibilities.”) is an admin-approved, role-aware digital workspace designed for 650+ aspiring entrepreneurs, startup founders, co-founders, mentors, and advisors across Odisha and beyond.

3.1 Mandatory Minimum Age (18+ Years)

Access to and membership in OASIS is strictly restricted to natural persons who are 18 years of age or older and legally competent to enter into a contract under Section 11 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872. Accounts registered by individuals under 18 will be immediately terminated.

Passwords must be at least 8 characters with upper, lower, and numeric characters (stored via Argon2id). Sessions use HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax cookies (oasis_sid) with a 24-hour sliding expiration and 7-day absolute maximum lifetime.

OASIS is a vetted community. Completing registration places your account in a Locked State (pending_approval).

• While locked, you can view your application timeline, copy your reference UUID, and message reviewing admins. All member directories, posts, and event links return HTTP 403.
• Applications are evaluated against the OASIS 6-Point Approval Rubric within a median of 48 hours.
• Pre-approved existing WhatsApp members registering via their /invite/[token] link receive instant activation.
• Rejected applicants must observe a 30-day cooling-off period (canReapplyAt).

Phone numbers and personal emails are Private by default and never indexed by external search engines (noindex, nofollow).

To maintain community trust, edits to verification-relevant fields (Primary Role, Full Name, Startup Name, Expertise, Mentor Verification Evidence) generate a ProfileChangeRequest that requires moderator approval before publishing to your public profile.

Posts are capped at 10,000 characters and responses at 5,000 characters. You may edit your own post within 24 hours of posting (which adds an “edited” badge).

Milestone achievements submitted to the dashboard banner enter admin review and remain live for exactly 24 hours (UTC) from approval before expiring automatically.

Guidance requests are limited to 10 requests per 24 hours per member to prevent spam. Requests expire after 14 days with a 7-day cooldown upon rejection. Contact information is only shared when a mentor explicitly clicks Accept.

Members may block any other user at any time in Settings. Blocking is confidential, bidirectional, and immediate.

Event registration capacity is tracked atomically. When an attendee cancels, waitlisted members are automatically promoted to registered and notified. Online meeting links are strictly confidential to confirmed attendees.

All personal tasks and opportunity deadlines in your Planner (/planner) are strictly private. Administrators have zero access to read personal task titles or notes.

Bulk scraping, automated crawlers, or harvesting directory data is strictly prohibited and actively monitored. OASIS enforces a 4-tier disciplinary ladder:

In Settings → Data & Account, members may request a complete JSON data export (compiled within 48 hours) or request permanent account deletion (profiles hidden immediately, all personal files and data purged within 30 days).

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. All disputes arising from or related to OASIS are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
